The Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU: Where Are We and What’s Next?

Dear Academic Staff, Professional Associates, and Students of the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU,

this year, the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU celebrates its 10th anniversary as an independent higher education institution, having welcomed its first cohort of students in 2014 to the Comparative Studies of Ideas and Cultures (3rd Cycle) programme. In 2022, two more programmes were added: Environmental and Regional Studies (3rd Cycle) and Earth and Environmental Sciences (2nd Cycle). Today, the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU offers a rich selection of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences courses across 15 study modules, all grounded in the tradition of research and innovation by our distinguished academic staff.

After a decade of successful work, it is time to reflect on the future of our school. In this spirit, I invite you to the Academic Assembly, which brings together all academic staff, professional associates, and students of the Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU. The Assembly will be held on Tuesday, 8 October 2024, from 8 amto 13 pm in the ZRC Atrium. The event will begin with a morning coffee and conclude with a social lunch. We will review our current status and discuss potential improvements and new directions for the development of our institution. The central question for this year’s Academic Assembly is: “The Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU: Where Are We and What’s Next?” Both internal and external participants will contribute to the event, and all attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, provide feedback, and suggest proposals.

During the meeting, elections will also be held for the new President of the Academic Assembly, as well as for members of the Senate and coordinators of study modules.

The detailed programme of the Academic Assembly will be announced in due course.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Dr. Borut Telban

President of the Academic Assembly, Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU
