Postgraduate school (PS) ZRC SAZU was established as a private, research focused and student friendly higher education institution offering postgraduate studies (M.A. and Ph.D. degrees) in the fields of humanities and social sciences. The Management Board of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) founded the Postgraduate school ZRC SAZU on 22 April 2011. On 18 October 2012, the Postgraduate school ZRC SAZU received accreditation from the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. An agreement was signed with the University of Nova Gorica to transfer a Ph.D. programme Comparative studies of ideas and cultures from University of Nova Gorica to Postgraduate school ZRC SAZU. On 11 December 2013, the postgraduate study programme was accepted and registered as one of the institutions of higher education and study programmes of Republic of Slovenia.
