Research Interests:
- Her research focuses on identity processes within minority communities, majority–minority relations, nationalisms, (forced) migrations, memory politics, and heritagisation processes, with particular emphasis on intangible cultural heritage and its role in political and international contexts.
- She pays special attention to the German-speaking community in Slovenia and its diaspora, the Kočevje (Gottschee) region, and other borderland and multicultural areas. Her work also examines the mobilisation of heritage in contexts of cultural diplomacy, reconciliation, and identity politics.
