The Transformation of Modern Thought – Philosophy, psychoanalysis, culture
The module Transformation of Modern Thought – Philosophy, Psychoanalysis, Culture is in its basic disciplinary orientation philosophical. However, philosophy isn’t presented in it within the framework of the usual school classifications and definitions of philosophy. The central research and educational subject of the module is contemporary philosophy and its classical sources, and the module examines and presents contemporary philosophical thought in its topical and historical problem-encounters with science, art and politics.
The purpose of the module is to introduce those who study into philosophy as a specific way of thinking. It presents philosophy as a discipline of flexible yet strict thinking that advances our capacity for a precise conception, advancement and resolving of theoretical and practical problems, and at the same time it reveals our own place within them. As such a way of critical and self-critical thinking philosophy advances our capacity to cross the borders of disciplines and fields in the process of solving scientific problems.
The lecturers in the philosophical module are local/home philosophers who are established in the domestic and international scientific community, as well as established lecturers from abroad.
